Abstract:
Male testosterone levels decline with age, often reflecting disruption of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal-testes (HPAT) axis driven by endocrine aging and lifestyle factors. Concurrently, prostate changes are common, with 30-40% of men over 40 years having benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Together, these changes negatively impact mood, fertility, sexual function, body composition, bone density, cognition, and urinary function.
