Discussion: Practitioners in integrative oncology function at the intersection of biomedical science, supportive care, and patient-centered communication. Beyond managing symptoms and treatment-related toxicities, clinicians frequently engage with patients’ existential concerns, prognostic uncertainties, emotional distress, and hopes for healing. The paper discusses three interconnected domains: (1) navigating complex conversations related to suffering, meaning, prognosis, and uncertainty; (2) working within multidisciplinary oncology ecosystems that may include differing perspectives regarding complementary therapies; and (3) cultivating healing-oriented clinical environments that support psychological resilience, trust, dignity, and overall well-being.
